Yay! It’s a brand new year and we’re off to a good start!
Ever since my kids and husband got on vacation, I haven’t been able to be consistent with anything. We all wake up at different times, I don’t cook as much, and cleaning isn’t done on a regular basis. I guess I’m so accustomed to being alone and taking care of our routines. It became really frustrating staying on task, so I think I just gave up.
Routines are awesome, because they keep you on task! I decided to take charge of my life again. Yesterday was my husband’s last off from work, so I decided that we all needed to get out and have some fun. We went to the park and played together. It was tempting to just watch my kids play, but I’m determined to lose weight. I ran around with them. It was exhausting but so much fun! I also decided to go join a weight-loss challenge on facebook, through Great Shape Today. I’ve done another challenge with them last summer and I lost at least 10 lbs. I’m hoping to lose more this month.
I’ve been working out since yesterday and I’m so sore, but happy. I got up earlier than usual and woke up the kids. We were able to clean up. I even had my sister and niece come over for a visit. It’s nice to sleep in and be lazy but how productive can you really be in that state. Being active and socializing is also essential to one’s self worth. It keeps you moving and alert of the things that need to be done.
My goals for this year need to strong and realistic! I think I’ll have to sit down and really think about them. I might just frame them for extra motivation and accountability. One major goal for me is losing weight (at least 1/2 of it) and the only way to do so is to get some moral support. I think goals without plans are just thoughts or wishful thinking, so this year will be full of strategies to change and grow.
* Be determined to change.
* Get others to help you change and grow.
* Goals need to have a plan in order to succeed.
